Poster produced by London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote the company’s services to the Continent via Harwich, Essex. The poster shows an elegant woman in a black dress returning from shopping in a Continental setting. Some people sitting at the tables of an outdoor cafe can be seen in the background. Artwork by Reginald Edward Higgins (1877-1933), a portrait and decorative painter who designed posters for LNER.
