Colour poster isued by the Soviet State Publishing House of Decorative/Fine Arts in Moscow, Russia, to celebrate the first woman in space. The text in Czech reads 'At Zije Prvni Kosmonautka Sveta' (translated as 'Light of (or Long Live) the First Woman Cosmonaut'). Tereshkova (b 1937) was the solo crew member in the Vostok 6 flight which launched from the Tyuratam Space Station in the USSR on 16 June 1963. She remained in orbit for three days, undertaking physiological and psychological tests. The poster shows her in a space helmet, with the Vostok 6 in the background. Dimensions: 570mm x 850mm.
