The Lake District - Windermere from Bowness', LMS poster, 1923-1947. Poster produced for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS), promoting rail travel to the Lake District, showing a view of Lake Windermere, where small yachts are seen sailing. Text beneath the image describes the area and advertises services operated by LMS steamers on the lake, travelling from Lake Side to Bowness, and to Waterhead Pier, Ambleside. Artwork by Norman Wilkinson (1878- 1971). Printed by McCorquodale & Co Ltd, Glasgow and London. Dimensions: 1013mm x 1258mm.
