Description
Carte de visite photograph by Maull & Co of London. Garibaldi (1807- 1882) was a republican who became one of the greatest soldiers of the Risorgimento army and who in 1860 went on to conquer Sicily and Naples with his guerilla Redshirts. Garibaldi contributed to the achievement of Italian unification under the royal House of Savoy, and was a popular figure amongst the people.
