Description
Galton's laboratory at the International Health Exhibition at the South Kensington Museum. Anthropometry is the scientific study of the measurements and proportions of the human body. Galton (1822-1911) was the founder of eugenics, the science of using controlled breeding to increase the occurence of desirable heritable charactersitics. The South Kensington Museum opened in 1857, and later became the Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum.
