Painting by H C Seppings Wright reproduced in the Illustrated London News (1894). The image shows a view of the newly constructed Tower Bridge in London, which was opened by the Prince of Wales in June 1894. The bridge is an example of a bascule bridge, where the central section can be opened drawbridge-style to enable shipping to pas through. A steamer is shown pasing through the open central section of the bridge in this illustration. Printed by Andre & Sleigh, Bushey.
