Colour print of two plates from a series of four. Plate three depicts a train of wagons containing goods pulled by the steam locomotive 'Liverpool' (1831) built by E Bury. Plate four depicts carriages containing cattle pulled by the locomotive 'Fury' (1831) built by Fenton Murray. The railway companies provided the railway power for which carriers paid a toll. The carriers had to supply the wagons and then charged a fee to the merchants, who in turn provided the men to accompany their goods. Printed by Raphael Tuck.
