Description
Boilermakers at Horwich Works, c 1905. Fireboxes for '1093' and '11' clas locomotives were asembled at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railways' Horwich Works. The rivets were heated in the furnace shown on the left and positioned by 'holders-up' for their colleagues to strike them in with hammers.
