Description
Lew' Locomotive 2-6-2T No 188, 1935. The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway in Devon opened 1898 and served the fringes of Exmoor. The one foot eleven and a half inch gauge line climbed to seven hundred feet above sea level to its terminus at Lynton. Although popular with holidaymakers, the railway lost money all its life and was closed in 1935. Photograph by GH Soole.
