Lithographic plate showing a desert camp. Camels are drinking at a water hole on the left. On the right a group of Arabs are sitting eating and a dead camel is about to be cut up for food. Taken from 'The Camel' in 'Graphic Illustrations of Animals - showing their utility to man in their services during life, and uses after death' (1845), illustrated by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins and R K Thomas and published by Roake & Varty.
