Description
Migrant baby left in a truck belonging to one of the FSA's mobile camps, Oregon, October 1939. Photograph taken by Dorothea Lange (1895- 1965) when working for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) as part of Roosevelt's New Deal. The FSA produced some of the most remarkable social documentary photographs of the 20th century, in their attempt to produce an encyclopaedic record of American life between 1935 and 1944, employig such photographers as Dorothea Lange, Jack Delano and Ben Shahn.
