Description
Model of a Babylonian raft, made from wood supported on inflated oxhides, based on reliefs in the Palace of Sennaelemb at Koulanjik. This type of raft, known as a kelek, was used for transporting goods downstream on the River Tigris fr over 2500 years. Keleks varied in size from 10 to 50 square ft.
