The caption sent with this image also included the following propaganda text: "The speech was broadcast throughout the Soviet Union. 97.3% of the population went to the poll to cast their vote in the first parliamentary election in Soviet Rusia. All the Soviet Government Chiefs drew solid support, and Stalin's own constituency in Moscow returned a total poll of 115% of the normal local register owing to the influx of voters from the provinces. The election results were greeted with jubilation throughout the Soviets' vast territories."
