Description

Illustration by Daumier. Gaspard Felix Tournachon, known as Nadar, was a French photographer, writer, caricaturist and balloonist. He took the first aerial photograph from a balloon he built in 1858. The balloon was three times larger than any other made and was capable of carrying 49 men and contained a darkroom. Honore Daumier (1808-1878) was a satirical caricaturist, who made more than 4000 lithographs and 4000 caricatures.
