Description
Two jitterbugs shine before the crowd as the man goes down in a burst of exuberance, 6 January 1940. A Jitterbug Contest became a 'competition' between dancers and police when 10,000 jitterbugs who gathered in a dance-hall at Los Angeles, California, became so enthusiastic that the 25 policemen asigned to keep order were forced to send for re-inforcements. Another contest has been postponed indefinately'.
