Description
Photographed on the Great Western main line south of Birmingham. The 9Fs were designed for heavy freight haulage at moderate speeds but their use as pasenger trains, especially in the busy summer period, was not uncommon. They could show surprising speed, 90mph was recorded with one of these engines.
