Description
First design for the rapid printing of telegams. Sir Charles Wheatstone (1802-1875), was the English physicist who pioneered electric telegraphy, and who with Sir William Fothergill Cooke (1806-1879) produced the first electric telegraph machine. He designed the ABC telegraph, a system used by the Post Office for several years. The ABC telegraph system was also adopted in Belgium and France.
