Description
RFIRT engine shed at Rio Gallegos in Patagonia, Argentina, 1977. A 2-10-2 steam locomotive, built by the Japanese firm, Mitsubishi, stands outside this Ramal Ferroviario Industrial Rio Turbio shed. The line was constructed in 1951 to transport coal from the mine at Rio Turbio to Rio Gallegos on the Atlantic coast, and is the southernmost railway in the world. Photographed by John Click.
