Description
Catalogue illustration. This palace was part of the Japan-British Exhibition held at White City, London in 1910. The exhibition was held to mark the culmination of 42 years of cros-cultural links between Britain and Japan, during which the foundations of Japanese industrial society had largely been shaped. It was the first great exhibition of Japanese products outside the Japanese Empire. The fact that the army and navy had their own pavilion illustrates the power and influence they had under the emperors.
