Description
The 'Experience' railway coach, 1834. Model (scale 1:8). This was a first clas carriage used on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway (L&MR). It was one of the first carriages specially designed for carrying pasengers, and was the design on which later carriages were based until the introduction of corridor stock. Before the Experience, pasengers were carried in open wagons. It was divided into three compartments each holding six pasengers, and had padded upholstery and the windows were panelled allowing the top half to be lowered.
