Description
King George VI' steam locomotive, 1928. Model (scale 1:16). Series no 6028. This is a Great Western Railway 4-6-0 type 'King' clas locomotive. Designed by C B Collett and built by F Cottam in Swindon, the King clas locomotives were introduced in 1927, and were the most powerful pasenger locomotives in Britain. They continued to be the most powerful 4-6-0 type locomotives until the end of steam.
