Description
Model (scale 1:4). This is the type of elevating jack truck patented by G P Taylor in 1912 and 1913. The truck consists of an undercarriage mounted on three ball-bearing wheels, two at the rear and one at the front which is carried in a pivoted fork for steering. The elevating platform is locked in its upper position by toggle levers, whilst the descent of the load is controlled by a hydraulic brake cylinder. The Cowan Transveyor allowed an operator to lift heavy loads alone, which saved on time and labour.
