Description
Closed steel wagon, 1923. Model (scale 1:8). This model represents the standard type of closed goods 22 ton wagon used on Indian railways during the 1920s. It has a gauge of five feet five inches and is built entirely of steel. The body is 21.33 feet long, 9.5 feet wide and 8 feet in height. The steel along the sides and roof is stiffened by continuous external angle bars rivetted to brackets on the underframe. It has a tare (unloaded) weight of 9.75 tons and is fitted with vacuum brakes. Side view on plinth.
