Description
Model of a light, two-wheeled one-horse vehicle seating two people. Gigs were used by people who often needed to make short quick journeys with minimum fatigue to the horse. They were used by commercial travellers, farmers, doctors and others. The wheels have metal tyres, and the vehicle is fitted with leather guards above the lamps, to protect the occupants from mud which would have been thrown up by the wheels.
