Description
Casein necklace made from imitation jade and tortoiseshell beads moulded in the Chinese style popular in the 1920s and 1930s. These are intersperesed with smaller imitation coral beads. Casein formaldehyde, a semi-synthetic plastic made from milk was developed in 1899 in Germany and marketed in Britain as Erinoid.
