Description
Rubber gloves are made on the outside of a mould. A ceramic 'former' in the shape of a glove is dipped first in calcium nitrate and then in latex which is a mixture of rubber particles and water. The calcium nitrate makes the rubber particles in the latex stick together. The coated glove is then heated and chemical reactions within the rubber turn it from a weak, sticky material into a durable waterproof glove. Made by the London Rubber Company Products Ltd.
