Description
The tray is made of acrylic and has a green square base with wavy edges, rounded corners and two roughly triangular indentations for bon-bons. The Perspex handle is attached diagonally acros the tray. Polymethylmethacrylate, known either as acrylic or by the trade name 'Perspex' or Plexiglas', was introduced in the mid 1930s. Its transparency made it immediately useful for aircraft glazing, and the material was used to make cockpit canopies for the Spitfire fighter in World War II.
