Description
In 1871 Maddox (1816-1902) discovered a way to use gelatine instead of glas as the basis for photographic plates, thus inventing the first practicable gelatine silver halide emulsion. The gelatin dry-plate proces involved coating a glas plate with a gelatine mixture which held in suspension fine, light sensitive particles of silver salts.
