Description
Lonsdale's (1903-1971) most recognised work was her analysis of hexamethylbenzene and hexachlorobenzene in 1929, in which she proved that carbon atoms in the benzene ring are coplanar and hexagonally arranged. She also contributed to space-group theory, disorders in crystals and anistropy study.
