Lithograph, drawn and lithographed by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (1819- 1905), printed by Day & Haghe, lithographers to the Queen. The lithograph shows a view of the tracks and platforms of Normanton Station, Yorkshire, on the Manchester & Leeds Railway. The railway was constructed from 1837 under the supervision of George Stephenson (1781-1848), and crosed a 51 mile stretch over the Pennines.
