Jean or Johann Bernoulli (1667-1748) was the younger brother of mathematician Jacques Bernoulli (1654-1705), and father of Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782), both also mathematicians. Jean Bernoulli made important contributions to the development of calculus, differential equations and the length and area of curves.
