Description
Lithograph of Braithwaite (1797-1870) who arranged the ventilation of the House of Lords in London by means of air pumps in 1820. He also constructed the donkey-engine, manufactured the first practical steam fire engine, built the caloric engine with Ericson in 1833, and was engineer-in-chief to the Eastern Counties Railway between 1836 and 1843.
