Description
Poster advertising travel by motor-bus, showing a group of gypsies singing and dancing. One man is seen playing a concertina, while another plays a mouth-organ. Artwork by C R W Nevinson (1889-1946). Printed by The Avenue Pres Ltd (L Upcott Gill & Son Ltd), 55-57 Drury Lane, London WC2. The first motor bus ran in London in 1899, but due to problems of reliability, bus services did not become succesful in the city until around 1910.
