Description
This device is in the experimental area of the orbital workshop of the Skylab space station. Skylab 3, with astronauts Alan Bean, Garriott and Jack Lousma on board, was the second manned mision to visit the Skylab space station. Launched on 28th July 1973 this crew spent 59 days in space. Skylab itself, launched on 14th May 1973, carried experiments to study the Sun, Earth and the impact of life in orbit on the human body. It was visited by three 3-man crews between May 1973 and February 1974, the last of which set a new space endurance record of 84 days.
