Description
Astronaut Joseph Kerwin examines Charles Conrad during the first manned mision (Skylab 2) to the Skylab space station. Launched on 25th May 1973, Skylab 2 astronauts Conrad, Kerwin and Paul Weitz spent 28 days on the space station. Skylab was launched on 14th May 1973 and carried experiments to study the Sun, Earth and the effects of life in orbit on the human body. It was visited by three 3-man crews between May 1973 and February 1974, the last of which set a new space endurance record of 84 days.
