Description

Floating in the Pacific Ocean after splashdown at the end of its mission in May 1969, the Apollo 10 capsule is awaiting recovery and transfer to the Us Princeton. The Apollo capsule is the only part of the spacecraft that returns to Earth. Apollo 10, carrying astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young and Eugene Cernan, was launched on 18th May 1969 on a lunar orbital mission, the dress rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing mission which took place two months later.
