Description
Detail of film disc. Originally designed in 1913 but not marketed by Charles Urban (1987-1942) until 1923, the Spirograph used 10.5 inch diameter discs containing 1200 frames arranged in a spiral of 12 rows. When the handle was turned, the disc revolved and gradually tracked acros behind the lens. The films were reproductions of profesional feature films and the projector was intended solely for home use. There was no camera available so people could not make their own films.
