Description

Reproduction of a painting by F Moore published in 'The Railway Magazine' with the inscription: 'Up 'Merseyside' Express on Whitmore Troughs'. The illustration shows London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) 4-6-0 steam locomotive no 6117, the 'Welsh Guardsman', heading the 'Merseyside Express'. F Moore was the collective name of a studio of artists who produced many paintings and painted photographs of steam locomotives, prior to the advent of colour photography.
