Caption reads: 'Even in this homely setting you will recognise father immediately as Beatle John Lennon, 27. Flanked by a couple of giant toys he is relaxing with son Julian, five, in a multi-coloured room at home in Weybridge, Surrey. The multi-coloured theme has beem repeated elsewhere in the house. The iron-studded front door, for example has been sprayed with a selection of paints'. John Lennon (1940-1980) formed the Beatles in 1960 with Paul McCartney (1942-), George Harrison (1943-2001) and Ringo Starr (1940-) in Liverpool, England. They went on to become the most succesful pop group of all time and finally split in 1970. Lennon was murdered on 8 December 1980 in New York by Mark Chapman.
