Description
A tin glazed earthenware pot with a polychrome floral motif. Poset was an easily digested, nourishing drink or soup based on hot milk curdled with ales, beers or sack (sweet sherry), and flavoured with herbs and spices, such as ginger and cinnamon. It was used as a remedy for colds and other minor ailments.
