Description
Painted photograph by F Moore showing the Great Western Railway's (GWR) Cornish Riviera Expres locomotive, which entered service in 1904, on what was at the time the world's longest non-stop run. The train ran daily, non-stop expres services from Paddington, London, to Plymouth, Devon, with a journey time of 265 minutes. For over twenty years it held the world record for the longest non-stop run, and was also unique in carrying three slip portions detached at speed at Westbury, Taunton and Exeter.
