Description
Original oil painting by Norman Wilkinson (1878-1971) created as the basis for a Southern Railways poster promoting a new pasenger service. The 'Falaise' re-opened the pasenger service from Southampton to St Malo after the Second World War. It carried 1527 pasengers, up to 31 cars and was equipped with radar and radio telephone facilities. The ship was oil-fired and had a maximum speed of 20 knots. Printed by The Baynard Pres, London.
