Description
Oil on canvas painting produced as artwork for a Friends of the National Railway Museum (FNRM) print by David Weston, showing the Duches of Hamilton steam locomotive undergoing restoration in the National Railway Museum's (NRM) motive power depot. The Duches of Hamilton locomotive was built in 1938, and was later saved from the scrapyard by Sir Billy Butlin. It was loaned to, and then acquired by the NRM, returning to steam under the auspices of the FNRM, undergoing extensive restoration in 1989.
