British Railways carriage print of the 1950s by Winslade, showing a scene from the 12 week siege of Lathom House during the English Civil War. With just 300 soldiers, Charlotte de la Tremouille, Countes of Derby, defended the house against a force of 2000 Roundheads under Colonel Moore, even managing to capture several of the parliamentarians' cannon. The siege was broken in June 1944 by royalist troops commanded by Prince Rupert. Dimensions of print: 260mm x 510mm.
