Description
'Factories on LNER Lines are on the Right Lines'. Poster produced for London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote vacant sites and factories along the railway's lines. The poster shows a factory and sidings with coal train pasing in foreground. Artwork by Austin Cooper (1890-1964), a Canadian who studied art in Cardiff and Arbroath. He began his career as a commercial artist in Montreal, but returned to London in 1922 and designed posters for LNER, London Transport and Indian State Railways. His first show was held at the London Gallery in 1948. Dimensions: 1014 mm x 631 mm.
