Description

Hertz's oscillator with rectangular plates and two resonators (one circular and one rectangular), c late 19th century. Heinrich Hertz (1857-1894) was a German physicist who discovered electromagnetic waves and he was the first to broadcast and receive radio waves. The unit of frequency is named after him.
