Description
Photograph. Sir Charles Fox (1810-1874) was the constructing engineer of the London and Birmingham Railway and designer of the Watford tunnel. Fox was also employed in railway construction in India, Ireland, Denmark, France, and Canada. Fox also built the Crystal Palace that housed the Great Exhibition of 1851.
