Showing switches and fuseboard. This masive cast-iron cooker is typical of its day. It was originally installed as Croydon's first electric cooker in the home of Samuel Rogers, and was in use until 1970. Two door oven, the inner one of glas, lined with grey enamelled sheets. The oven heating elements, at the top and bottom of the oven, are controlled by switches mounted on a wooden board, each having a low, medium and high position. The hotplate has four heaters, each totally enclosed in an iron box. Three-quarter view.
