Description
Amana Radarange Touchmatic microwave oven, 1978. Manufactured by Amana Refrigeration Inc, of Amana, Iowa, USA. With micro-go-round plus clockwork presure activated turntable by Nordic Ware. This new method of cooking used short radio waves to penetrate food which is cooked by the heat produced by the agitation of water molecules within the food. This increased the speed of cooking dramatically. Microwave cooking was introduced in the USA in the late 1940s and in Britain in 1959. Three-quarter view.
