Description
Men of rank and fashion took up driving as a sporting pastime during the latter part of the 18th century. This type of low, open carriage was drawn by a single pony or horse and would have been used by a young aristocrat for driving in town or on a country estate for pleasure. Four-wheeled versions would sometimes be pulled by two horses.
